James Curran Middle School was opened in 1960. The school is named after long-time Bakersfield resident and businessman James Curran. Along with running a successful business, he also served in local government as Justice of the Peace and Treasurer. Curran Middle School does its best to provide each student the education they need to achieve success at every level of life, from High School, College and beyond.
